A Collection of Short Stories
In 2015, I started to interview elder members of my family about their experiences of living along the US-Mexico border. The majority of stories take place between 1884 and 2018 and focus on the moments and personalities that defined the people and culture that raised me.
The collection is complete and is currently being prepared for publication. While the emphasis of the project is to understand how the forces of history and culture influence who we are and the lives we ultimately live, it's central aim is to reframe and resituate what it means to be an American.
