In 2015, I set out to trace the threads of my family’s history, hoping to understand not just who my ancestors were, but how they saw themselves—how they made meaning of their place in the world. What began as a quiet act of remembrance, a way to recover and pass down what might otherwise be lost, soon unfolded into something far more intimate. Along the way, the silences began to speak. Hidden connections emerged. Stories, long buried in the folds of memory and time, rose to the surface—unexpected, luminous, and alive.

This project is about culture. It is about history. It is about making visible that which is often overlooked.

I chose stories as the medium of expression because stories are a reflection of who we are and how we imagine ourselves to be. Stories are powerful, lasting, can be passed down, shared, and even take on a life of their own. If stories can be a source of division, can they also be a source of commonality, healing, understanding, repairing, of making the world better?
